Growing up in Houston, TX without Christ, Shawn knew how to seek unhealthy attention and empty acceptance, but in a varsity basketball locker room, Christ got a hold of his heart and Shawn surrendered his life to Jesus Christ.

Shawn’s greatest desire in ministry is to see life-change. He has a passion to see God change the way people look at His word and His church. “Our culture today has written off God’s word as irrelevant and the church as hypocritical, fake and unloving.” He loves to creatively connect with people through God’s Word. For the past 14 years Shawn has had the honor of leading students in ministry as a student pastor as well as traveling and speaking at youth camps, retreats and conferences.

Shawn has had the honor of ministering with some great worship leaders such as Charlie Hall from the Passion Movement, Jeremy Camp, Robbie Seay, the Future of Forestry and Judd Wright. Shawn received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Graphic Design from The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor and his Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary.

Shawn met his lovely bride, Amy, on the first day of college and was instantly attracted to her! They have been married for 14 years have 4 wonderful, crazy kids, Aubrey (12), Caeden (9), Ethan (8) and Logan (4). Shawn really enjoys music and all sports, but especially enjoys playing basketball, skiing, and mountain biking. Even, more than that he craves hanging with his beautiful bride and is often found imitating Captain Jack Sparrow as he chases his four kids through the house for their favorite game of Pirates. Currently the Minix’s are praying about their next steps in Ministry and hope to one day plant a church for God’s glory.
